2016 - Fly Fishing New Orleans, Louisiana with Southern Fly Expeditions

2016 was an incredible year for Southern Fly Expeditions and our anglers from around the world!  We had some tough days with strange weather patterns, but we also had a lot of EPIC days all year long.  Each day presented new challenges and new opportunities.  Many anglers were here for their first time and many anglers landed their first redfish, jack crevalle, black drum, sheepshead, alligator gar, triple tail, spanish mackerel, shark, ladyfish, flounder, speckled trout, white trout, pompano, sail catfish, hardhead catfish, common carp, bighead carp, and largemouth bass on fly or light tackle.  Some in the same day!  So many beginners, novices, and experts are now hooked on this Louisiana marsh fishery and I love seeing their faces light up when talking about their next trip here before they even leave the dock to head back to the city.

Thanks to all the anglers, guides, and others who were a part of Southern Fly Expeditions' 2016 and helping to make it a year to remember!

Here are some of my favorite photos from 2016.

If your 2017 new year resolution is to spend more time on the water, go on more adventures, enjoy the outdoors more, go fishing, catch certain fish on fly or light tackle, experience the Louisiana marsh, or anything of the sort... We can help make that happen.  Let's make 2017 even better than 2016!
