Please email me to confirm availability for the dates you want to reserve by clicking the "EMAIL ME" button. Please check your "junk mail" just in case my email response goes there. Do not book a charter without discussing availability with Capt. Brandon as it can change very quickly.

Please know that we are on the water just about every day and usually unable to respond until we are done for the day. I look forward to responding to everyone as soon as I possibly can.

Daily charter Rate:

  • $850 per boat - Available year-round - Commonly known as “Full Day”. This is typically up to 8 hours on the water.

  • If a day is cut short by the guide because of weather, the rate may be adjusted by the guide.

  • If you are only available to fish a short day and still want to book it please discuss this with Capt. Brandon. This is a rare occasion and we don’t do these often.

  • Pricing is based on 1 or 2 anglers per boat.  At this time the maximum number of passengers per boat is 2.

  • Gratuities:  Tips are not included and are not required, but are much appreciated.  Help your guide know that you appreciate their efforts and enjoyed your time with them. Remember, your guide is often working much harder on the challenging days.

WHAT'S INCLUDED:

  • Please see the "FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS" for more information.

  • All fly and light tackle (conventional spin) gear.  We encourage you to use your own equipment if that's more comfortable for you, but we have gear set up specifically for the Louisiana marsh if you’d like to use ours.  Please keep the amount of gear to a minimum.  If you choose to bring your own gear we recommend the following:

    • 8, 9, 10, & 11 wt fly rods and reels spooled with weight-forward floating fly line and plenty of 30lb or higher strength backing.  We use floating line 99.99% of the time. Intermediate line could work as well if that’s all you have and prefer not to buy more line. Sinking line is very rarely used, but has it’s place. The size rods needed will depend on the conditions and fish we are targeting. We typically only use 1 or 2 different rods during a day on the water so there’s no big need for bringing a bunch of rods each day. Most commonly used rods are the 9wt and 10wt.

    • Medium to Med-Heavy spin or casting rods and reels spooled with 20 or 30lb-test braided line.

  • Fuel, Boat launching fee, & Ice when needed.

  • Photos taken of you and your trophy (CATCH & RELEASE).

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Please see the "FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS" for more information.

  • Polarized sunglasses with amber/copper/brown/rose/yellow colored lenses (Gray lenses are NOT recommended as they typically decrease color contrast making it more difficult to see fish in the water.), Brimmed hat to shield the sun from your eyes.

  • Lunch, Sunblock (please no spray cans), Waterproof top and bottom outerwear to block wind and water spray/rain.

  • Warm layers of clothing for colder temperatures, Lightweight clothing for warmer temperatures. (Shorts and bare feet are NOT recommended due to the possibility of biting flies).  I recommend at least bringing pants and full-coverage shoes to put on in case the biting flies are too active for you.

  • Please do NOT wear boots, hiking shoes, or heavy soled sandals like Chacos. Boat shoes or sneakers are best.

  • A "Charter Passenger Saltwater 3-day" Louisiana fishing license is required for each angler who does not already own a resident or non-resident license that will cover your days on the water. Licenses can be purchased from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries (if the website is down or you're having difficulty call 1-888-362-5393).  The “Charter Passenger Saltwater 3-day” will cover you for up to 3 consecutive days which you will request when you purchase it.  An authorization number will be given to have with you on your charter(s).  You do not need the hard-copy of the license if you have the authorization number. This is the appropriate and still cheapest license even if only fishing for 1 or 2 days. The price is $20 per person + card fee. Their pricing is subject to change.

  • Medications that you may require.

  • Notify the captain of any special accommodations needed. For example, if you will require a grab/lean bar for the elevated casting platform. This is typically for people who have balance issues and need a little more support. It’s highly recommended to stand on the elevated casting platform while sight-fishing.

  • MOST IMPORTANTLY, bring a positive attitude and a willingness to adjust tactics depending on conditions. If you plan to fly fish, but the conditions just are not going to allow it or will greatly decrease productivity we can switch to conventional spin fishing gear to increase our chances and have a great time.

Cancellations:

  • Cancellations made outside of 30 days of the booked date may be rescheduled for up to 1 year of the original booked date or the deposit may be refunded.

  • Cancellations made within 30 days of the booked date will forfeit the deposit.

  • Cancellations made within 14 days of the booked date and no-shows will be required to pay in full.

  • Cancellations must be submitted to captkeck@southernflyexpeditions.com.

  • Cancellations made by the captain because of weather, conditions, mechanical issues, or emergencies may be refunded or rescheduled for up to 1 year of the original booked date. It is ultimately up to the guide to cancel due to weather and based on the guide’s experience. The decision is often made the night before or morning of the charter. The guide will discuss this with the client or clients’ representative.

  • See Frequently Asked Questions for more information on refund timelines, card fees, etc.

  • Travel insurance may be purchased through various providers.  It's not a bad idea to be prepared for the unexpected.
